The Bainbridge Amateur Hour Net meets on
Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm on the Bainbridge Amateur Radio Club repeater,
W7NPC, on beautiful Bainbridge Island. 444.475 receive, +5 MHz offset for transmit, 103.5 Hz tone.
Every Month, on Tuesdays, we have the following Nets, some are for BEARS or Flotilla as follows:
The first Tuesday will be a BEARS Net
The second Tuesday will be the Amateur Hour Net
The third Tuesday will be a BEARS Net
The fourth Tuesday will be the Amateur Hour Net
Any fifth Tuesday will a Flotilla Net
Why is this Important?
When you participate in a directed net, you do the following.
You reduce your inhibitions about pressing the push-to-talk (PTT) button and transmitting your voice.
You practice the basic skills necessary to function on nets in real-world scenarios.
Given the format of the Amateur Hour Net, you'll have fun and possibly learn something from the question of the night.
You get to know other people on the net a little bit better each time. If you keep returning, you'll know more about the other ham operators.
The purpose of these nets is to check in, have fun, and encourage newer hams to connect on air. If you are new to amateur radio or you have new equipment you want to try out, or you are an experienced ham who wants to stay in touch, this is a great place to connect!
If you’ve been listening to this net, and you’re not sure about checking in, we’d love to hear from you.
Our BARC Amateur Hour Net is called the Amateur Hour net for a reason! Every licensed ham is invited to join in, regardless of experience, ability, equipment, or location. If we can hear you, you are welcome on the Amateur Hour Net. No pressure on this net.
